Situated on the shore of beautiful Coniston Water, Low Bank Ground is the perfect base for all outdoor activities with easy access to the lake and the Coniston Fells.

The Centre can accommodate up to 52 people in two self-contained buildings - Highfield and Rough Close - which can also be hired separately. As well as tailored residential stays for schools and youth groups, Low Bank Ground is also available on a self-catering basis for independent groups.

Knowing we were going to do completely different things, made me unsure of how to think of it, but when we did the activity, I realised it was really fun. I think the mountain was the biggest challenge. Low Bank Ground released the explorer inside me!

sleeps 36 in 10 bedrooms – five of which have en-suite bathrooms – in a mixture of bunk and single beds. There is also an additional high dependency suite with two profile beds, air conditioning and full hygiene facilities.

Rough Close is a traditional Lakeland stone building which sleeps 14 in four bedrooms, each with their own bathroom

As well as the main dining facilities, Highfield and Rough Close both have a small kitchen, social areas with television and DVD player, drying room and Wi-Fi access.

Activities can be provided for your group by booking a member of centre staff in advance of your stay, this gives access to the full range of centre pursuits and all the necessary equipment. Use of either building allows access to the lake shore where we have a jetty, a small pond suitable for introductory kayak sessions and barbecue and campfire area.
