During this 6 month project we worked with Signal Films and the Furness Multicultural Community Forum’s Youth Club to create our Heritage Lottery Funded film ‘Talking Histories’.

Young people learnt the technical skills required to record and edit video footage so they could produce a short film celebrating the area’s multicultural past and present. They had the chance to research Barrow's past, with the help of the local archive, interview local people from the black, minority and ethnic community and create stop-motion animations to bring the town's past to life.

All this came together in a wonderful short film showcasing Barrow's multicultural past and present, which was premiered on Friday 14th September 2018 in the town:
