With 75 years of experience of supporting people to be the best they can be, it never ceases to amaze us the transformational impact we have on so many.
From small steps to giant leaps, we see people being inspired to take charge of their own destiny, be it a subtle shift in attitude towards a prevailing problem; a determination to realise a dream, or committing to learning new skills in their work or training. Whatever progress is made, invariably it is real and long-lasting.
We’ve asked some of them to share their Brathay story with you.
Roy Broad Roy Broad is a keen yachtsman, motorcyclist and volunteer with the RNLI. He thanks Brathay for pointing him in the right direction.
Brathay trustee Marc Pate had a life-changing moment at Brathay when, as a young stonemason apprentice, he came for development training as part of the WorldSkills UK squad. It wasn’t the practical stuff that made an impact; more a few timely words from one of the course leaders.
Liz Heyworth A huge thanks to Liz Heyworth-Thomas for celebrating with us by being the first of our ‘75 Stories to Tell’ – a project that aims to post 75 stories during 2021 from those who’s lives have been impacted by Brathay.
