Home Stories to tell Neil Braithwaite

Neil Braithwaite

We'll always be grateful for the contribution Neil Brathwaite has made as a valuable and proactive trustee - yet here he is, thanking Brathay for what the charity has taught him!

I was very fortunate to be introduced to Brathay back in 2011, as I was starting to make the transition from an executive career into the world of the Non-Executive director. So I have a lot to thank Brathay for in terms of being a place where I was able to cut my teeth as a NED, as I in turn looked to use my experience to help the governance of the charity. Over the next 7 years I had the privilege of supporting the work of Brathay as a Trustee of the Charity, and then also as Honorary Treasurer & finally as Chair of Trustees.

During that time I learned a great deal about the challenges faced by our children and young people in society today, and about the enormous difference the work of Brathay makes in helping people to have the confidence to take the positive steps required to change their lives. Brathay's unique model which develops an individual's strengths through a combination of experiences, challenges and support really does inspire young people to go on to realise their potential.

Brathay has been able to do so much to help improve the lives of thousands of young people and their families over the last 75 years. Many congratulations to all at Brathay for reaching this important landmark & I look forward to keeping in touch with the charity's vital work as you set off on the next 75 years!

Very best wishes, Neil
