We have en-suite rooms in Brathay Hall itself and in attractive Swiss-style lodges scattered around the estate. All rooms are en-suite and offer views to die for, either overlooking the grounds and lake, within the woods, or towards the fells that sit as a stunning backdrop to picturesque Ambleside.
Most rooms have:

- tea and coffee making facilities
- dog-friendly for a nominal extra cost
- free parking on site
We have superior and standard en-suite rooms to suit all budgets. All our accommodation is of a high quality, well-equipped and clean.
Superior Rooms
Our superior rooms in the Scafell Lodges offer stunning views across our estate to the Lakeland fells and boast large, luxurious rooms with en-suite, lounge area, flat screen tv and comfy beds.
Our lodges have been thoughtfully designed to include sustainable and environmentally-friendly features and are discreetly positioned close to Brathay Hall. With their full-height picture windows and contemporary interiors, they offer light and airy accommodation, whatever the time of the year.
Standard rooms
Located on the second floor of the main Hall, or in properties close by, we have a choice of double and twin rooms, each equipped with an en-suite shower room, a flat screen tv, hot drinks facilities, a hairdryer, desk, wardrobe and in some cases, a security safe. Some have lake views but these cost a little extra.
Single En-suites
Our recently renovated rooms provide the perfect location within the beautiful Lake District landscape that surrounds our Brathay estate. We offer good sized single rooms in our Loughrigg building behind the main hall.
Relax in style
Lounge bar
When our residential group courses are running, guests can often enjoy shared use of our communal lounge on the ground floor of the Hall with its attractive Georgian interior, comfortable sofas, free wi-fi and roaring open fire – perfect for unwinding after a big day out on the hills!
The lounge has a fully-licensed bar for everyone to use, but please appreciate, it isn't always open. We’re a charity offering wellbeing and self-development activity courses and the lounge bar is only usually open when larger groups are staying.

Our guests love to come to Brathay as they find it relaxing, welcoming and unpretentious. As a charity dedicated to wellbeing this is good to hear, especially as our staycation income helps pay for underprivileged young people to experience the wonders of the Lake District too.
