Windermere Marathon: Important Update

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting over 7,000 young people each year and inspiring them to build their brighter futures, we are taking a moment to reflect on our fundraising events.

Our fundraising events are delivered with the sole purpose of raising additional funds, so we can do even more vital work with young people. The Windermere Marathon has been a key event in our calendar for many years, and we are very proud of it. However, it requires a significant amount of resource to organise both in time and cost, and has not consistently given Brathay a good enough return on this investment. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision not to deliver the Windermere Marathon in 2025.

While we understand this news may be disappointing, we hope you understand why we have reached this conclusion and continue to support us as we plan new and sustainable fundraising activities that will help us further our mission.

We are pleased to confirm that the iconic Brathay 10in10 will still take place on 8th May 2025 with a lively final-day celebration at Brathay Hall, honouring the incredible fundraisers and the young people they support.

The Langdale Marathon and Half Marathon, as well as the Christmas Pudding 10K, will still take place in October and December of this year, and we look forward to seeing you there.
