We’re asking our PM to act now for the wellbeing of young people
We're at a critical point for the wellbeing of children, young people and families in this country. The exceptional rise of living costs is putting pressure on low-income families and young people, causing them to be more at risk of poverty and poor mental health.
We urge our new Prime Minister Liz Truss and the government to respond now. We ask them to work with schools, charities and communities providing vulnerable young people and families with much needed support to avoid catastrophic consequences caused by unnecessary hardship.
Our CEO Godfrey Owen adds,
We are living in unprecedented times. Since the pandemic we have seen a rising need for mental health support for children and young people and the cost of living crisis is adding pressure to those who are already vulnerable. Young people are our future — we must act now.
