Record‑breaking fell and ultra‑distance runner Jasmin Paris MBE has joined us as a Patron, bringing her experience, determination and love of the outdoors to support our work with young people.

Jasmin is known worldwide for pushing the boundaries of endurance running. She won the Montane Spine Race outright in 2019 and broke the course record by 12 hours. In 2024, she became the first woman to complete the notoriously tough Barkley Marathons in Tennessee.

Alongside her sporting achievements, she’s a mum of three, a small‑animal vet and a research scientist. She’s also deeply committed to helping young people uncover their strengths and enjoy the benefits of time spent in nature.

I am delighted and honoured to become a Brathay patron. I am passionate about providing opportunities for young people to explore their potential and thrive, and to experience the wonder and joy of the natural world.

As Patron, one of Jasmin's roles will be to champion our flagship fundraising challenge, the Brathay 10in10, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The ten marathons in ten days event around Windermere is one of the most demanding endurance challenges in the country and plays a vital role in helping fund our work with young people.

Her insight and energy arrive at a perfect moment as we mark this milestone year.

Her incredible achievements send an inspiring message to young people to believe in their strengths and realise their potential. With our 80th anniversary and the 20th 10in10, this feels like the perfect moment for Jasmin to join our community.
