Chris Batten

Chris Batten has a long association with Brathay as a former director, funder and client. He continues to feel inspired by us, even in retirement.

I’ve known about Brathay since the early 1980s - it was where the best trainers ended up. Failing that mark, I started on the staff team in the Business Development department in 1994 and soon came to understand that the one thing that separated Brathay from an increasing array of development training providers was the truly bespoke delivery of each course. It was never about us and all about the needs of the participants - a fundamental difference to the 'set course’ providers.

I went on to become a Director and then a funder and then a client - the Brathay staff (and estate) were the perfect choice to initiate and develop the Aspiring Leaders Programme, a true gem in Brathay’s crown-like logo. Having retired, I now content myself with the odd stint of volunteering and applauding Brathay from the sidelines.
