Brathay’ s Youth Matters Project Makes Waves at Houses of Parliament
Westmorland and Lonsdale MP, Tim Farron, spoke of Brathay’s new Youth Matters Project during Home Office questions on Monday describing it as a powerful way to address anti-social behaviour and engage young people in their community.
Youth Matters is all about giving the young people of Kendal a voice. It has been set up by Brathay, supported by Tim Farron and funding from My Lakeland Fund, and Cumbria Community Foundation and South Lakeland District Council’s Fairer South Lakeland fund, with a clear focus on providing a holistic youth provision based on the expressed needs of young people themselves.
We are delighted that Tim Farron showcased our project as an exemplary way to support young people, enabling them to grow as individuals, build meaningful relationships, and gain invaluable experiences beyond their school life.
