Final showcase is a hit for students of culture
Final year students from the Changing Culture Programme celebrated their graduation this week with an exhibition of their work at Brathay Hall. During the evening, they shared their achievements with family and friends, as well as members of the Cumbria Arts and Culture Network.
The 2-year Changing Culture Programme aimed to increase the diversity of arts, culture and heritage leadership in Cumbria and North Lancashire, allowing participants to find rewarding careers closer to home while making a valid contribution to the arts within our rural communities.
Funded by Arts Council England, and delivered by Brathay in partnership with University of Cumbria and Keswick's Theatre by the Lake, the programme provided placement opportunities with host organisations, giving students first-hand experience working inside the industry and a network of contacts to take forward in their careers.
The showcase was met with applause, right to the end, and we even had live music from one of our students. Not only was it a great day for celebrating, but was also an opportunity for students to gain feedback from the members of the Cumbria Arts and Culture Network.
