Low Bank Ground

Situated close to beautiful Coniston Water, Low Bank Ground is the perfect base for all outdoor activities.

Low Bank Ground can accommodate up to 46 people in two self-contained buildings: Highfield and Rough Close; which can also be hired separately. As well as tailored residential stays, including healthy meals and a full activity programme led by expert staff, Low Bank Ground is available on a self catering basis.

Stone-built Highfield looks out across Coniston water to the Coniston Fells and has direct access to the lakeshore. The building sleeps 32 in 10 bedrooms – five of which have en-suite bathrooms – in a mixture of bunk and single beds. Two large bedrooms are suitable for wheelchair users, and there is a high dependency suite with two profile beds, air conditioning and full hygiene suite.

Rough Close is a traditional Lakeland building which sleeps 14 in four bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The shore of Coniston Water is a short walk away, across fields.
Highfield and Rough Close both have: kitchen and all necessary equipment to cater for your group; dining room and lounge with television and DVD player; drying room; and Wi-Fi access.

Activities can be provided for your group by booking a member of centre staff in advance of your stay, this gives access to the full range of centre pursuits and all the necessary equipment. Use of the either building allows access to the lake shore where we have a jetty, a small pond suitable for introductory kayak sessions and barbecue and campfire area.
