Siobhan and Martin, Brathay’s artists in residence, invite you to their Studio, where you have the opportunity to meet them, get involved and have some creative fun!

The Studio is where Siobhan’s and Martin’s remarkable ceramics, that can be found in some of the best restaurants and private homes in the UK, are made.

How often do grown-ups get the opportunity to play, to challenge themselves and invest in their own creativity? Not often! We are offering you the chance to create beautiful objects and invest in your own well-being and sense of place, with two Creative Workshops. Tile creation and decoration in the morning, and Gilding in the afternoon.

The morning workshop will give you a chance to create your own tiles and coasters integrating found and foraged local materials. A perfect introduction to the joys of playing with clay. Come along and experiment with shape, colour and surface treatment to create interesting effects. The workshop will run between 10:00 and 12:00.

The afternoon workshop will involve gilding with Siobhan. Gilding is a decorative technique for applying metal leaf to a surface, it is an ancient and endangered art form. This a fabulous opportunity to learn about gilding and play with the basic techniques to create beautiful objects. The afternoon session will be between 14:00 and 16:00.

The Miles-Moore Ceramic workshop will be open between 10:00 and 18:00 if you would like to meet and discuss ceramics with Siobhan and Martin, and meander around the workshop and showroom. To view the Miles Moore Ceramic website please click here.
