We are delighted to announce our next unique supper experience with Miles-Moore Ceramics.
Come along and enjoy some delicious, nutritious food in the company of ceramists Siobhan and Martin, a husband and wife team known for making great plates for great chefs and also have a special interest in Brathay’s resilience work with young people. They will be serving tasty food intended to boost well-being in bowls designed and created by them. Guests will be invited to take their own bowl home as a keepsake.
Each bowl will mark the launch of ‘Brathay Glaze’ a new and bespoke finish developed in conjunction with Brathay staff using slate and wood ash from our grounds.
The evening will also feature an American Raku Firing, creating moon vases in honour of the first moon landings 50 years ago, with opportunities for three lucky guests to make a bowl of their own, which will be fired, glazed and returned to them.
This truly ‘aglazing’ evening costs just £25 including a welcome drink, supper, entertainment on the lawn at Brathay Hall, Ambleside – and, of course, your bowl.
The event is the evening before the Real Food Rocks Festival begins, also at Brathay Hall, so food lovers have the perfect opportunity to enjoy the two events in the one visit! More info about Real Food Rocks.
