Our Community Programmes
Young people are our future, they need our support now more than ever.
At Brathay, we support them with a holistic service that meets the needs of young people in their community. Whether it's universal support or targeted support the intent is the same: to empower them, enabling all young people, their families and their communities to build a brighter future.
We look to provide innovative, relevant and meaningful support that meets the ever changing need of young people and has positive long-lasting impact. We support them in areas such as:
- Mental health
- Social isolation
- Education
- Employment
- Financial crisis
- Domestic abuse
We deliver community support services in South Cumbria and Bradford with a team of qualified and dedicated youth workers, key workers and counsellors.
The Brathay programme really changed things for me; it meant I had something to look forward to and I knew that if I tried hard there would be something at the end of it. I met new people and did loads of stuff that I didn’t think I could do. I’d recommend anyone to go to Brathay if they get chance.

Aspiring Leaders Programme
In partnership with Francis Scott Trust we deliver a fully-funded degree programme. This Aspiring Leaders Programme (aka ALP) is an innovative programme that aims to transform leadership across the third sector in Cumbria and North Lancashire.
ALP has been a safe place for me so I'm really going to miss it. Whenever I've faced hardship at home or work I've gone to ALP for my support network. They've helped me accept who I am.
