A commitment to wellbeing
unites us as one

As an organisation, our committment to wellbeing underpins everything that we do. Be it our charity work with young people, our fee-based people development training, or our public challenge events, our committment to wellbeing makes us 'One Brathay'.

We are lucky to be based in the Lake District – the perfect setting to take time out and reflect, although we also focus on wellbeing in urban communities too.

Our programmes impact at a deeply personal level by using sustained experiential learning to build resilience and confidence; to teach strategies for managing life’s most challenging situations, and to develop self-belief.

We have a 75-year history of working with young people and there is still no ‘quick fix’ when it comes to wellbeing.

Our community programmes reflect this, providing life-changing practical, emotional and social support over long periods of time.

80% of the young people on our community programmes have emotional and mental health problems. We work with individuals experiencing anxiety, self-harm, substance misuse and lack of confidence. They may be at risk of exploitation or engage in risk-taking behaviour.

By wellbeing we're talking about resilience and positivity; equipping young people to take responsibility for their lives.

Help us make the ordinary, extraordinary.

Has your Brathay
experience boosted
your wellbeing?

We hope so, especially as your contribution will have helped a young person somewhere to feel better too.

Brathay is 75 this year!

We work with young people, families, employers and employees, to enhance wellbeing and create long-lasting personal change.
