What was the challenge?

Srishti started her Early Careers Programme at Genuit a month before her residential at Brathay. It was an exciting time, and she found herself saying yes to every opportunity she was offered. As her workload increased, Srishti began to realise she had taken on too much

What did Brathay do?

A residential at Brathay is a key component of the Genuit Early Careers Programme. When the group arrived on site, Srishti met Ryan, a Learning and Development Consultant at Brathay.

During the high activities, Srishti struggled. She said

I was terrified, I felt like I had let everyone down. Ryan calmed me down and appreciated my effort. My teammates also respected my decision. It helped us understand more about communication on different levels.

However, during the water activities, Srishti thrived. She said, “I love being outdoors, I enjoyed ghyll scrambling a lot more."

What was the impact?

Srishti described the programme as “fun and adventurous”. She learnt how everybody approaches tasks differently and was excited to continue with her graduate scheme. In line with Genuit’s trademark behaviours, the residential at Brathay encouraged the group to work together, take ownership and find a better way. Srishti said, “The energy Ryan brings has been really helpful. It’s been a huge learning curve. It has helped me find creative, innovate solutions to the way I approach tasks and work in a team”

I had the pleasure of working with Shristi here at Brathay. The programme enabled her to examine her own and others 'thinking, behaviour choices and actions as we dived into what ‘good looks like’ within the culture of her organisation.
