I am a 28 year old Army Officer and Instructor at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and originally from the Lake District. I have been running for seven years, since I decided I needed to get fit. I have run three marathons including the Windermere Marathon and the Peak District 60 mile ultra. I am involved in the Academy Cross Country Club and I am affiliated to the Milocarian Athletics Club, who are predominantly servicemen, ex-servicemen and their families. The Peak District Ultra has been my biggest achievement and toughest challenge to date.

If the Army has taught me anything - It is to keep going no matter what. My inspirations are the Brownlee brothers, who stormed to victory in the 2012 Olympics also,my fellow 10in10 team mates themselves are an inspiration.

I feel extremely lucky to have grown up in the Lake District and for the opportunities the Army has given me - opportunities that I feel should be available to all young people. I am in the Medical Corps, so putting others less fortunate before yourself is in my blood. We are there to help and care for people and that is why I chose the 10in10. I love the area and feel very strongly about what Brathay Trust does. Please sponsor me as one of ‘the newbies’ to the 10 in 10 - in return I will keep you updated with my training through my blog.
