Evaluation project

The Brathay Academy provides a centre for intellectual leadership in the field of personal and leadership and organisational development.

Evaluation project – integrated children & young people programme

Brathay’s youth programmes to reduce the number of young people becoming first time entrants to the criminal justice system are subject to a newly commissioned, in-depth evaluation.

This independent research is being led by Professor John Pitts, Vauxhall Professor of Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Bedfordshire. The research is funded by the Department of Children, Schools and Families Youth Sector Development Fund.

The project will take an action-research approach to learning and understanding how Brathay’s integrated programme, combining targeted youth work with a residential experiential approach approach, can raise outcomes for young people. The results will be shared widely in line with Brathay’s mission to develop and share knowledge through research and development. Brathay has established a close partnership with the University of Bedfordshire sharing knowledge and resources to enhance the impact on both organisations’ students.
