Research & evaluation services

Brathay can provide a range of research and evaluation services to help you:

Programme Evaluation

All programmes include evaluation. These evaluations draw on standard data monitoring and programme feedback and some naturalistic data, leading to a 500 word programme/course report. (For an example of an end of programme evaluation, please see the Kirklees Spen Valley Evaluation at the bottom of this page.)

Enhanced Impact Evaluation

An enhanced impact evaluation involves a greater range of data collection. Working in partnership with you we will establish baselines and measure distance travelled using a range of qualitative and quantitative tools and creative data collection methods. Five days of our research hub team’s time to design, collection and analysis will  lead to a 1000 word report.

Bespoke Research

We can provide bespoke research for your course or programme. Research may include evaluation, but often seeks to generate new insights or knowledge into an issue or area of practice. We will use a mixed methods approach to address your research question including use of data sets, observations and interviews, creative tools, and literature review. Six days of our research hub team’s time will lead to an academic journal standard research report of 5000 words. (For examples of Bespoke Research, please see the Helena Partnership Evolution Programme case study and the Regional Empowerment Network case study at the bottom of this page.)

Research Commissions

Our research team is available to work with you on areas of work or questions that are outside of our work with you. Bradford Youth Offending Team recently commissioned us to write case studies on the attitudes of Looked After Young People to offending for example.

Young Researcher Programme

We run courses designed to train children and young people in becoming researchers themselves, helping them to fully participate in your service and ask research questions of their own. (3 full days or equivalent for a group of 10). This programme is accredited with the AQA Peer Research Training and Practice Unit (72107) which is at level 1.
