Brathay partners with The Youth of Today project

Posted Monday, 16 November 2009, 3.53pm

Brathay are working in London, Cumbria, Merseyside and Yorkshire & Humber with a group of young people aged between 13 – 19 years.  The young people participating were nominated because they had demonstrated a ‘leadership spark’.

We aim to provide them with training, mentoring, funding and networking opportunities, which will enable them to make changes in their own communities and develop as young leaders.

The programme is part of The Youth of Today project being delivered by Changemakers and was launched with an inspirational Summer Residential at Wellington College in Berkshire.  The residential inspired and motivated participants to be leaders of change. The group have some fantastic ideas and over the next few months we will be working with them to help transform these ideas into young people led projects.

If you feel that you have the ‘leadership spark’ and would like to get involved, then please contact Julia Walton, Regional Development Manager (London), Clare Dyson, Cumbria Participation Worker, Sean Atkins, Senior Youth Worker (North West), or Anne-Marie Douglas, Regional Development Manager (Yorkshire & Humber).
