Brathay, are organising a free forum for employers to help them address the issue of Leading Employee Engagement.
The Forum, taking place at Brathay Hall, in Ambleside will bring together senior management, human resources directors and learning and development professionals on Friday 5th February 2010.
The forum will provide an opportunity for delegates to share best practice on the topic of Leading Employee Engagement through a mix of speakers and roundtable discussions. The Leading Employee Engagement Forum will explore how Employee Engagement is being practised in organisations, its positive impact on UK competitiveness and performance and its role in the country’s efforts to come through the current economic difficulties. The aim of the Forum is to help improve employee and business confidence in making the most of the upturn through sharing best practice.
Guest speakers include Jo Kendall-Smith, Management Development Manager at M&S Money, John Burgoyne, Professor of Management Learning at Lancaster University and Chris Ravenscroft, Director of Greystone Partnership. The Brathay Forum will offer the opportunity for group discussion on topics such as organisational cultural change and what forms of leadership develop appropriate engagement. Places will be strictly limited to enable a constructive workshop atmosphere.
Brathay’s Practice Lead: People in Organisations, Simon McGoran said: “Employee engagement is a combination of commitment to the organisation and its values plus a willingness to help out colleagues. It goes beyond job satisfaction and is not simply motivation. Engagement is something the employee has to offer: it cannot be ‘required’ as part of the employment contract.
The event will begin at 10am and close at 4pm.
Following the popularity of the Brathay Apprentice Forum in June, places will be limited to 2 delegates per organisation and allocated on a first come first served basis. To book your free place, contact forum@brathay.org.uk
