The Brathay Three Lakes Challenge. A unique opportunity to paddle and row the 3 longest and most beautiful lakes in the Lake District: Ullswater, Coniston and Windermere within 12 hours.

Sunrise over Ullswater for 3 Lakes Challenge participants
The Brathay 3 Lakes Challenge not only provides a test of physical endurance for a high performing team of individuals but also offers the added prospect of earning £1000 for a charity of the teams choice.

In order to complete this undertaking successfully all members of the team must contribute considerable energy, drive and determination whilst remaining focused on their goal; whether it be raising money for charity, reaching the finish in their proposed time limit or emerging as a more united team.

Participants will use Brathay’s fleet of Whaler boats to row the final leg of their journey which takes them from the south to the north end of Lake Windermere. They are a specialist type of open boat originally developed for movement from wooden sailing ships in the 1700 and 1800’s. The challenge also provides an opportunity to celebrate the tremendous effort that has gone into the restoration and maintenance of this unique resource.
