Supporter honoured with a community award for going the distance for us

THE superhuman efforts of runner Paul Dewar, to fundraise for local charities including Brathay, have been recognised with a community Citizen of the Year Award 2016. Paul, Landlord of the Stan Laurel Inn, Ulverston, raised £20,000 for us by cycling 1,350 miles, swimming the length of Windermere and running 10 marathons in 10 days.Read more

What happens when a charity gives £70 to businesses in Cumbria?

We gave 12 Cumbrian businesses £70 and set them a challenge - use it to raise as much money as possible to help young people in, or leaving, the care system. And they did, by arranging events including limerick competitions, beard growing contests, long distance bike rides, tandem challenges, treasure hunts and lots of walking, baking and cake eating.Read more
