Following our half marathon this year we will review out organisation, delivery and partnership with the local community in order to stage an even better event in 2017.

The 13.1 mile route starts from Brathay Hall and runs down the west side of the Lake through the honey-pot village of Hawkshead and alongside the peaceful Esthwaite Water to the halfway point .

On your return to Brathay Hall a new perspective on the stunning Lakeland scenery awaits you as you take in the iconic Langdales and the surrounding fells.  Finish this breathtakingly beautiful course, amidst a carnival atmosphere, in the grounds of Brathay Hall with its picturesque views over England’s largest lake.

Spectacular - beautiful scenery, excellent organisation, well-spaced refreshment stations, very friendly atmosphere - I can't fault anything about this race!

Runners World participant feedback

The whole course is run on either closed or partially closed roads and the marshalls are the friendliest around! BrathayRunning has outstanding local support and, to top it all, you will get to see the inspirational men and women who will be completing the final marathon of their Brathay 10in10.

The atmosphere is uplifting and the 10-in-10ers utterly humbling.

Your entry fee includes timing chip, electrolyte sports energy drinks and bottled water at three refreshment stations and the finish line, marathon finisher’s medal, trophies and prizes for winners in all age categories, and a goody bag.
